Titanic Belfast; My Favourite Place in Belfast

Belfast is a hugely popular tourist destination and it's only as I've gotten older that I realise how lucky I am to live in such a beautiful place. When you grow up in a certain place, you tend to have a mindset that you need to make it out of it and find something bigger and better, but I love that no matter where I end up in the world, I'll always be able to call Belfast my home. One of my favourite places to spend time at is Titanic Belfast.

I'm sure a lot of you know that the Titanic was built in Belfast and set sail from Belfast harbour. I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing when you think of the fate of the ship, but it's still pretty cool that it was built here. In 2012 the Titanic exhibition centre opened at Harland and Wolff shipyard and today you can walk over the very slipway where the Titanic was built and set off from. things to do in belfast, titanic belfast, titanic exhibition centre Belfast, what to do in Belfast, visit Belfast, Belfast blog, Belfast blogger, tourism Belfast, northern ireland tourism, titanic quarter Belfast, travel blog belfast, arc apartments belfast titanic

This is one of my favourite places to go to at night because it's completely lit up with blue lights and it's such an beautiful and peaceful place to spend time. There's so much history here and I love that I can simply walk to it whenever I want.

During the day the Titanic exhibition centre is open for tours and it's the second most popular tourist attraction  in Northern Ireland (Giant's Causeway being the first) and you can buy tickets online. However, I love coming down here in the evening when it's very quiet and you have peace to take in the views.

You can also get a pretty great view of the famous Samson and Goliath cranes from here. There's also water sports during the day for anyone who can bare the ice-y water. It's so magical to walk down to the very end of railings (pictured at the start of this post) and look out over the harbour (and it's the actual perfect to place to reenact that Rose and Jack scene!)

For any Game of Thrones fans, that yellow building behind me at the start of the post is the Titanic Studios where they filmed the show, and some days the doors were open and you could see the giant green screen they were using to film, pretty cool!

If you walk in from the city centre and pass the Big Fish and the Beacon of Hope sculpture, you can cross the bridge towards the titanic quarter and there's plenty of places to sit and just watch the boats pass by and have a chilled evening. It's really nice to visit the Titanic Quarter during the day too because there's a few cafes and bakeries you can sit outside and have a drink.

If you're planning a trip to Belfast or you live in Belfast and haven't visited here, make sure to come down to the docks when the sun is setting in the evening, it's definitely one of my top places to visit in Belfast and you're sure to love it too.

Have you ever visited Belfast? Emily x
